Dr. Doug Davies is a licensed chiropractor, certified chiropractic wellness practitioner, watercolor / mixed media artist, husband and father. Dr. Doug was born and raised in greater Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he grew up with his younger sister and older brother. Though his love was hockey, he excelled at football in high school and received a scholarship to Simon Fraser university. A four year starter on the offensive line, team captain and conference all-star, Dr. Doug was selected 8th overall in the 1987 Canadian Football League (CFL) draft by the Montreal Alouettes. When the team folded during training camp he returned to SFU as a grad assistant and earned his BSc in Kinesiology. The following season Dr. Doug signed as a free agent with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats where he began a twelve year career as a center and long snapper enjoying two stints with Hamilton, 6 years in Calgary Stampeders and 3 years with the British Columbia Lions, from 1988 through the 1999 seasons. Doug participated in two CFL championship games during his stay in Calgary, winning the Grey Cup in 1992 with Doug Flutie as the quarterback. 

After completing his Canadian Football career, Doug moved to Portland, OR to attend Western States Chiropractic College where he graduated in 2004 Magna Cum Laude. Since graduating Dr. Doug has become a Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner (CCWP) through the International Chiropractic Association.  Originally, Dr. Doug planned on returning to Calgary after graduation, but after weighing his options, accepted an offer to practice in downtown Portland. As a father of two younger children, it was important to provide some stability for his family. Dr. Doug is married to his beautiful wife Dana of 24 + years and has two children, now young adults. His daughter Keeley, who played softball at centennial High School and later Shasta junior College, has returned to the centennial district and works as an educational assistant. His son Wyatt also a Centennial Eagles graduate is currently working with the Tonkin Group in Portland.

Dr. Doug has taken full advantage of the great outdoors that Portland and the surrounding areas have to offer. Not wanting to give up the years of dedication to physical fitness developed playing football, Dr. Doug took up triathlon and has competed in numerous Sprint and Olympic distance races in the Pacific North west, is a regular participant in the Shamrock Run and has even ridden his bike from Portland to Gearhart-once!.

When not found practicing chiropractic or working out, you are most likely to find him astride his motorcycle. He is a member of the Portland Road Runners, Rose City HOG and, most importantly, the Patriot Guard Riders who form an honor guard at services and help protect mourners from harassment and fills out the ranks at burials of indigent and homeless veterans. In addition to attending funerals, the group also greets troops returning from overseas at homecoming celebrations and performs volunteer work for veteran's organizations such as Veterans Homes. Though he never served in the military,his respect and dedication to this nations military personnel and veterans stems from his his families commitment and service in the Canadian Armed forces. Dr. Doug's brother has served in the military for over 35 years.
